CyberClass – Foundations of IT
For my Final Year Project, I decided to develop an interactive e-learning system using Macromedia Director. The success of the outcome was my big ticket to a Distinction.
My final year project entitled “CyberClass: Foundations of Information Technology” falls in the category of an e-learning application. The aim of this project was to build an interactive application that can be used as a learning support towards the University’s module: Foundations of Information Technology.
This application is not only intended for the students as the lecturer can use the same resource to teach the same information. In order to make this project successful, I integrated rich multimedia content including animations, movies and 3D content. I used Macromedia Director to tie these aims together. I have also added an interactive quiz which utilizes XML to generate the questions in random order.
This project allowed me to reflect on many aspects that I learnt from most courses in my Undergraduate Degree program. The design of the interface has been productively created by following the user-centred design principles studied in Human-Computer Interaction. Furthermore, the project revisited all the multimedia related modules including Multimedia Video Systems, Computer Graphics Rendering and Modelling, Multimedia Audio Systems, Video Production Techniques and especially Foundations of Information Technology.
With hard work, I achieved the grade that I wanted which helped me receive a First Class with Honors.

Siemens SL 55 Demo
This project gave me an excellent idea of what Flash is capable of. I had to develop a virtual demonstration of the SIEMENS SL 55 cell phone. You can pretend to use most of the functions that the real phone has. The demonstration is available for you to try it out.
For my Multimedia Video Systems course, I had to develop a virtual cell phone using Flash.
It was very intimidating to first encounter the software but the project encouraged me to understand the skills that are required.
We had to implement several interactive functions such as dialing, controlling display menus and animation.
The end result satisfies all these aims and they all work successfully.
